As the state of Meghalaya, which is called the wettest state of India, has many splendid
waterfalls. Having the height of about 1100m, Nohkalikai Falls, which is the tallest plunge fall of India, has a true view of nature. As the state of Meghalya is abundant in rainfall round the year, visitors can hope these falls in full flow almost all the year round. It is one of the splendid & wonderful waterfalls in India. At an altitude of 1300 meter above sea level and about 56 km from Shillong in East Khasi hills district is Cherrapunjee village, now it is called Sohra. Cherrapunjee is the highly wettest place as it receives the second highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is a centre of Khasi Culture and Literature with having the oldest Presbyterian Church and an establishment of Ramakrishna Mission and famous for its Limestone Caves and Orange and Pineapple groves.
