Located in the Firth of Clyde you will find a little bit of Tibet in Scotland complete with prayer
flags and stupas. With an ancient spiritual heritage dating back to the 6th century it is currently home to a Buddhist community and retreat. This smaller isle, which reclines just off Arran’s east coast, has long been a spiritual place. This was taken to new levels when the SamyĆ© Ling Buddhist Community bought the island and set up a retreat and education centre. You can pop over in a ferry from Lamlash for a hike, volunteer to help out at the Buddhist centre or settle in for a retreat. More:
