It is just such a varied country. There is so much diversity. One day you may find yourself in the
rain forest, and the next in the desert. I took this image in a section of the Gobi Desert near Dunhuang in China’s under-visited Gansu Province. I was staked out at the spot waiting for the light for about an hour waiting for some nice light. Finally, just after the sun dropped behind the dunes, I got some brilliant light on the sky and soft light baking the temple. I only got one photo exposed before the light disappeared and went back to dull. I’m glad I managed to capture this moment, because it was an awesome one.
