something unusual and out of our comfort zone. We like active vacations and this lived up to our expectations. Honestly I cant say enough about how wonderful our experience was. I think a lot of it has to do with our guides Anon and TK. They were both so knowledgeable about the area and they really made the trip. For example - one day we were supposed to go see another temple but many of us felt we had seen enough temples so Anon offered a visit to a local village instead. It was one of the best days - we saw a local school, picked fresh limes from an orchard, watched how the villagers made clothing and chop sticks then made our own soup for lunch using the limes and eating with the chopsticks!! A highlight for my kids was the visit to the elephant preserve - we fed, washed and learned all about Asian elephants. This was followed by a four course dinner at a local Thai cooking school. We prepared and ate everything from scratch.Prior to going I was concerned about safety and the food with picky eaters. Neither was an issue. We felt totally safe the entire trip. On our second day one of the members of our group fell off their bike and skinned their knee requiring stitches. Within minutes and despite the fact we seemed to be in the middle of nowhere a medic was there and the person was off to the hospital to get stitches. One of the guides accompanied them and they were back with us by later that afternoon. In terms of the food it was so varied and fantastic, Anon even made sure there was fried rice every meal for my youngest son when he got tired of trying the new foods. Anon went out of his way to make sure he had something to eat he liked each meal.
