Purnululu National Park

Purnululu National Park was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2003, for its outstanding

universal natural heritage values. But the Park’s domes, gorges and wet season waterfalls were almost unknown to the outside world until 1982 when aerial pictures of this outback jewel were released. To view the park from air is still the best way to see this maze of orange-and-black striped sandstone domes, often likened to giant beehives. So I took a scenic flight (helicopter tour) over the towering domes and took this shot. More:
