The Purnululu National Park, East Kimberley, Australia. A designated World Heritage Site is
another proof that Australia is a true wonderland. Its spectacular landscape features unique sandstone pillars, unbelievable rock formations, canyons, gorges, creeks, savannahs and rugged orange surface – a result of bacteria found on this sandstone.
The latter natural wonder is called the Bungle Bungle Range and is best approached from an airplane. The striped formation also features hidden pools and palm groves, some of which are inaccessible on foot. However, there is also plenty to see for the hikers as well. Numerous routes provide unforgettable views, while visitors can spend a night at the camping sites and continue their adventure in the morning. More:
